dA LoveI had a huge response from Saturday to Wednesday evening, and have what I think is the best of over 200 artists!

To kick this off, here is some work from my own friends and watchers (often personal favorites):

These Capsules rest in my hand
Disguised as a colorful candy,
I pop them in my mouth
And swallow with glee,
It feels as though,
I'm finally set free,
From life's unfiltered reality.
Falling like angels of heaven,
Directly
Into the pits of hell,
Numbness trickles, down my spine
Until it flows,
Like a river of nothing.
The dark intangible demons, of insecurity
Puncture my bubble of hope,
Angels of chalky assortment
Vanquish them, with a sharp ignorance,
Leaving the past,
Lost and forgotten,
The numbness begins to fade,
Will these demons attack again?
Shimmering drops of translucent agony
Invade my face,
When I decide to take some more,
Just in case.

My true love, which I cannot see,
Lives in my senses, and is always with me.
I smell her scent in the flowers and grass.
I taste her when I eat something sweet
I feel her in the warm summer wind, a passionate heat.
I feel her longing on the cold East breeze.
I see her face on the rising sun.
I hear her cries in the voice of birds, and her kind words as wind in the trees.
I hear her in my favorite songs, the chords and notes her embrace.
The drums are the beat of our hearts, which in our closeness race.
In the night when the world is asleep, with not a sound around,
My love leaves me. Nowhere to be found.
Loneliness grips me, for by reality’s cruel decree…
I cannot see my love…and she can’t see me.

Underneath closed eyelids, not located too far,
resides a realm of imagination from unique to bizarre.
The sound of a snore, a very irritating quirk,
signifies the dreaming process at work.
Parallel reveries with phantasms amuck,
controlled by realizing what exists using luck.
Using your thoughts, recognizing reality;
the way of escape from your creative mentality.
A vision of the future, fueled by your hopes and goals;
bringing out everything from the depth of our souls.
Terrible anomalies can envelop the space,
clouding your judgement; slowing your pace.
Paralyzing fear in a world that's unreal;
awaking with happiness and breaking terror's seal.
Dreams can guide us to a world in the light.
Beware of the darkness; the "Mares of the Night".
