Description

Taken at the Fontaine Saint Michel, Paris, June 2009. At sunset (hence the wonderful lighting).

NO EDITING. Nothing, not even a crop. Nadaaa.

50mm f/1.8 - I'm attempting to force myself to learn how to compose my photos properly. I also want to take full advantage of this lens; it has rapidly become my favorite (out of two) - colors, bokeh, clarity... It has it all.

EDIT: I'll just be keeping this version, I like the fact that he's in the center.

*lucky-april and I went to have a milkshake at a 50s style diner bar just round the block. (Yes, it has become our random hang-out spot.) This was after #hq's Paris devMEET, which was pretty awesome.

I missed two trains to watch these guys. Exclusively brass band, other than the drummer. They were seriously incredible - just music that makes you want to breathe in the air and smile.

If I had a brass instrument, it would be my best friend, after my camera.

I mainly took photos of the this one guy, he was a serious show-off.

This is why I love Paris.

Any sort of critique is always welcome. I'm hoping to do more street in the future (if I can ever get up to Paris enough), especially in the metro, so any and all feedback will really be appreciated.

Hearing these people play was a breath of fresh air in the middle of my exam period.

And sorry for the really long Artist's Comment! I guess I have a lot to say.

I hope you enjoy it!

You are doing a wonderful job.:)
When I'm composing with this lens, not street capturing, composing, like here [link]
I usually set the focus to the central camera sensor to achieve interesting results. I focus using that and then keeping the focusing locked while pressing the shutter button I frame the camera as I please.
